Fire Works

Another CNY fireworks pic. heh.

Classes are starting on Monday *sob* *sob* This means travelling back to Ulu Land.. oh well, all good things have to come to an end i suppose. At least i have "snapshots of thoughts" (as Yi Khai puts it) to remind me of what a blast these hols have been. i have one more day before i have to go live under a rock again. Think i'll log off this comp now and enjoy the rest of it. Toodles!

Big Eyes

You know what? forget funky photo angles and photoshoped hues, my lil dog is just soo cute. was just browsing through some pics of her when i saw this and just thought i'd post it for fun :) This lil princess has picked up a habit of climbing onto our beds and snuggling under the covers all by herself. *sigh* Pampered pooch..

Butterfly

A more festive post for this season :)

Imagine a bunch of big kids running around with sparklers in the middle of the road - that's pretty much what we did for the better part of the CNY dinner the other day ;) . haha it's been a long time since we played with fireworks and all.. *weeEee* it's so fun.

Somehow, we got the idea to start drawing sparkler pictures in the air with the camera on long exposure..once that started, we didn't stop till we had properly and thoroughly exhausted all our sparkler resources.. *ai* so fun la heh (Cue the Toys'r'us song : "I don't wanna grow up..i'm a toys'r'us kid..la la la"). Try it, it's addictive..really.

While i'm posting, Happy Valentines Day to everyone.

Rope Burn

Yet another shot with a title inspired by a song.. *heh* i'm seeing a trend these days. Again, this was shot from a moving car so it's a bit blurry round the edges on full view but, oh well, i like it anyways.

Seeing that it's the eve of CNY and all, i just want to say a HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR to all. Have a smashing new year - eat, drink, Cho-Tai-Ti your ang pows away and do drive safe if you're travelling :)

I better run now. The dinner downstairs is in full swing, my uncle is having one too many glasses of wine, and, i think i'm missing dessert. Toodles ;)

Rain Falls

Rain falls angry on the tin roof
As we lie awake in my bed
You're my survival, you're my living proof
My love is alive not dead
Tell me that we belong together
Dress it up with the trappings of love
I'll be captivated I'll hang from your lips
Instead of the gallows of heartache, that hang from above

- from I'll Be by Edwin McCain

Taken at Malacca recently. Went down there on Friday to meet up with Hsuz before she left for NZ.. *sniff* miss you girl. *lol* Considering the fact that i was happily snapping away from the passenger seat of a moving car along the streets of Malacca, i think i rather like this shot.

Malacca is such a lovely place to photograph. The old world charm of the by-gone eras still hang thick in the musty afternoon air. Lovely vibe there.. makes you wanna sit by the river, grab a nice cold drink and laze the day away with a good book or better yet, good conversation.

Being in charming places like these never fails to lull me into a somewhat "poetic" mood. *gives a contented little happy sigh*

I like having my head in the clouds. It's nice up here.

*cheers*

Blue on Black

Blue on black
Tears on a river
Push on shove
Don't mean much
Joker on Jack
Match on a fire
Cold on ice
A dead man's touch
Whisper on a scream
Doesn't mean a thing
Won't bring you back
Blue on black

-from Blue on Black by Kenny Wayne Shephard Band

For some reason, i've suddenly rediscovered my interest in this song. It's something i used to listen to a couple o years back. Haven't played it much since but the other day as i was sitting there, thinking, musing, generally wallowing in some obscure blank & confused mess of a feeling, it started to play in my head - Blue on Black

Blue on black. Tears on a river. Push on shove. Don't mean much.
Joker on Jack. Match on a fire. Cold on ice. A dead man's touch.
Whisper on a scream. Doesn't mean a thing.
Won't bring you back.
Blue on black.

Must be how i feel.
Been having a hard time figuring that out these days.

*cheers*
